Welcome to Term 1 2025 – Art Through The Ages
In this 8-week course, students will develop and further understand the creative process and progress their art technique in a fun and supportive environment.
Students will learn about Art Through The Ages and how selected artists historically produced their artworks and how contemporary artists produce their works today.
This term we start with prehistoric art dabbling in water soluble markers and textural mixed media. Then, we move into the Renaissance period with a focus on drawing in charcoal inspired Da Vinci and one of his most notable works, the Mona Lisa.
We then move into the Romantic period, focusing on watercolour mixed media collage and the works of Casper David Friedrich. We then look at the Post Impressionist period, using acrylics and Van Gogh’s sunflowers body of work.
We round out the term looking at Indian Art and animal mixed media collages, followed by a recyclable sculpture inspired by Columbian born Australian artist, Maria Fernanda Cardoso. Then its onto our mini masterpiece body of work for the final two weeks.
Our process-based art studio teaching is founded in the Great Art Movements, and each week we explore a different era of Art History and Fine Art Techniques.
All Students are provided with;
- A Visual Arts Diary for their workings and drawing excercises throughout the Term
- An apron in class for their art activities
- A mini Fine Art Lesson each week relevant to a particular artist or style for the Term
- All Art Materials required for each weeks diverse activity
- Their own piece of Art, created in class each week, to take home!
- All the materials required to complete a Masterpiece of their choice at the end of Term
- A light snack of fruit & biscuits
- 8 Weeks of Creativity and Fun in a nurturing environment!
Class Fees are pro rata through the term so you can join in at anytime!
