We will start the Term with a look at CONTEMPORARY ASIAN / AUSTRALIAN Artist Lindy Lee. We will work with ink blowing and gold paint to create Asian zodiac style creatures

In week 2, it will be a foray into U-KIYOE Printmaking, specifically Japonism. Inspired by Japanese woodblock prints, we will create a Monet-Esque inspired relief print using multiple prints.

Next, it’s all about the art of the PACIFIC and FIJI, specifically looking at local art studios and Fijian artists. We will work in watercolours and gold pen produce small, bright miniature paintings focuses on florals, fruits, marine creatures, plants and landscapes.

Then we move into JAPANESE ART. We will try our hand at Japanese Pop, Pattern & Play and the works of Takashi Murakami using paint and pens.

Week 5 will see us look at the PACIFC ART of the Marshall Islands and the Wotje Weavers. This week will see us do a brand-new technique of paper weaving to create fish and flowers.

And finally, we will look at INDIAN MADHUBANI ART, where these artists used areas of flat colour and highly decorative patterns to produce their works of animals, landscapes and still life. We will use clay to create a decorative sculpture of Ganesha that is Madhubani inspired.
