Julie Peadon is an award winning artist who has a passion to share her skills with all who want to explore creative expression.
Julie teaches fine art from her studios and gallery in Sydney’s Inner West suburb of Drummoyne. Julie works closely with her team, local artists, business owners, government and the local community in making art accessible. Her works are held in private and government collections as well as public and community spaces. Julie was the City of Canada Bay Arts & Culture Citizen of the Year in 2021 and has been a Finalist in the Sustainability Awards, Child Friendly in 2021/22 and Resilience in 2022. Julie is also a founding member of the Drummoyne Art Trail.

Welcome to Term 4 2026 - Cezanne, Picasso to Giacometti
In this 8-week course, you will develop and further understand the creative process and progress your art technique in a fun and supportive environment.
We will start the Term with a look at Paul CEZANNE, the father of Modernism as he started to breakdown familiar landscapes into new ways of seeing. The first week will explore layering acrylic paint with large square brushes and pieces of card to mimic Cezanne’s block like mark makings.
In week 2, we will explore Georges BRAQUE and the reduction of form into planes, shapes and tone. We will use paint (acrylic or watercolour), collage and mixed media to create a Cubist inspired artwork.
Continuing with the Cubism feel, we look at Pablo PICASSO at how he reduced the figure into shapes and colour, in particular his portrait study of Dora Maar. We will explore acrylic techniques further and the use of line work to define edges and shapes.
We then move into the magic of Henri MATISSE, and explore colour in the style of the Favues. Matisse also developed the technique of “painting with scissors”, and we will design large “postcards” with collage and mixed media elements.
Week 5 will see us look at Paul KLEE and his delicate lines, use of playful colour and whimsical forms that remind us of childlike memories and wonder. Watercolours, delicate penwork and coloured pencils will be used to create our artworks.
And finally, we will look at Alberto GIACOMETTI, and his figurative sculptures. Students will design their sculptural figures and place them in a unique setting; a garden, a gallery or a magical world? Techniques include the sculptural uses of aluminium foil and/or tissue paper, combined with paint on canvas panels.
The first 6 weeks is spent learning the various techniques while the final two weeks are spent applying all of the term’s learnings into our own mini masterpieces and body of work time; just like a real life artist!
All Students are provided with;
- A Visual Arts Diary for their workings and drawing excercises throughout the Term
- An Apron in class for their Art activities
- A mini Fine Art Lesson each week relevant to a particular artist or style for the Term
- All Art Materials required for each weeks diverse activity
- Their own piece of Art, created in class each week, to take home!
- All the materials required to complete a Masterpiece of their choice at the end of Term
- A light snack of coffee, tea & biscuits
- 8 Weeks of Creativity and Fun in a nurturing environment!
